Review of INWO Sub Genius

I don't like card games very much, especially collectible card games. So when I heard about a new non-collectible card game coming out for the collectible card game Illuminati New World Order…fssh! Who cares? But I looked in the store at this cool little box, and I hadn't spent money in ages (this was before I got online and reduced my family's financial status to the shambles it now is), and I heard a voice calling, "Buy me, Buy me." It sounded soft and sweet like the voice of midsummer rain…did I mention the cool little box yet?

I don't like card games very much…but I loved the art on these cute little cards. They had fun titles like:Advanced Supersonic Aluminum Nazi Hell Creatures from Beneath the Hollow Earth (ain't it cute!), Eternal Salvation or Triple Your Money Back (apparently we United Methodists do not have the same faith in our product as Dr. Dobbs seems to have in his…oops), and Rain of Prairie Squid, which shows a rain of prairie squid…I suppose it could have been Reign of Prairie Squid but that would have been too weird. But the one card that caught my eye…the one card to bind them all, to…the one card that my wife looked at and said, "Yep, that's you." Excremeditation…maybe its just a guy thing, but any game that has a card with the caption, "So where do you do most of your reading?" is a must buy.

This game follows the INWO mechanics mostly…there are some slight changes. But most of the time you'll be picking up groups, placing them into your structure, and wailing the living daylights out of one another for the control of the Church of the Sub Genius…for control of the world. It works, and the cards are a great deal of fun. Pick this game up if you have a chance…you won't be disappointed! This game gets an "A."
