Review of The Vampire Players Guide

Goto [ Index ]
This is the book that cast the mold for the rest of White Wolf's many Players Guides. You know the layout by now: Merits/Flaws, new types of characters (Clans/Bloodlines), new powers (Disciplines/Rituals) and new Archtypes. There's also plenty of toys to play with and a few neat essays to read.

Not bad, for a book written about five years ago. That was before Werewolf's Second Edition came out, and before the rest of the World of Darkness saw print. Its age shows, and it needs a revision as much as the rulebook does.

Do you need it? Nope. If you don't have it by now, you don't need to get it. If you must, buy it used or borrow someone else's copy. Get a new version when it's released sometime down the road.
