Review of Dragon War Wolf Pack

About two years ago, I reviewed the game Dragon War. In that review, I had promised to review some of the expansion packs for the game. Well, I may not be timely, but I am honest, as I am finally getting around to writing those reviews.

This expansion adds a special card to the deck, the Wolf Pack. This card is odd, in that it only has 1 square, rather than 3. When landed on, this card releases wolves onto the playing board. The player landing on the card gets to place the 4 wolf tokens that come with the set onto any board spaces they want. If a player lands on a space with a wolf counter, they have to fight with the wolf. If they win, the wolf counter goes away. If the player loses, they take 6 damage and the wolf stays.

The Wolf Pack card is not of the same quality as the cards in the basic set, mainly because it lacks the coating that the others have. The wolf counters are made of the same, slightly sticky plastic as the pieces from the main game, which is good. This set adds a little extra combat to the game, but it really changes the game very little. You can probably find a better way to expand the game.
