Review of Dragon War Movement Fate Cards

About two years ago, I reviewed the game Dragon War. In that review, I had promised to review some of the expansion packs for the game. Well, I may not be timely, but I am honest, as I am finally getting around to writing those reviews.

This expansion consists of a number of new Fate Cards to add to the deck that came with the basic game. As the name suggests, almost all of these cards effect how the characters move around the game board. Most of it is basic stuff, like “move character of your choice 3 spaces forward or backward”. Some of them allow you to negate other fate cards, or effect movement in other ways, but most just shuffle characters around the board even more than the game already does.

The cards are not high quality, as they are not all evenly cut. Thus, you end up with some cards that are of a slightly different size than your other cards. This isn’t a problem in play, though it can cause shuffling problems and the “ah, it must be a movement card!” issue with having cards of noticeably different sizes.

Bottom line, these cards make the game a little more hectic, but do not change it significantly.
