Review of GURPS Ultra-Tech 2

When your only tool is a hammer (the axiom goes) everything looks like a nail. Well, it's time to get new tools, then. This is a catalog, with little framing construction but a hefty amount of decent writing. Occasionally the entries even read like a bizarre J. Petermen for the Men in Black. This is a good thing.

Without an overall tech framework for many of the devices, they are simply presented almost like a tome of magical items. Most of the "classic" fun tech stuff is in there (and there's nanotech, biotech, cybertech, etc etc, so it's not limited to any one category). Being a techie myself, I would have enjoyed more of a framing context, for example, a listing of what the gravity beamer principal really covered, but hey, that's me. They do give a paragraph of science-fictiony explanation for most tech, which is probably better than using modern physics and finding the theories became obsolete a week ago.

Being a catalog, there's not much more I can say. If you want new toys, get this (and beg your GM to let you keep it.)
