This review is about the supplements that Euro Games publishes for Formula De: a set of "expansion circuits" which detail additional racetracks all over the world. Each $19.95 pack contains two tracks (on flip sides of the same card board).
The first expansion pack (#3/#4) contains "Zandvoort 2" (Nederland) and "Spa-Francorchamps" (Belgique).
Now, these tracks definitely aren't necessary to play the game, by any means, but I think having a couple of them around adds some nice variety to the game, because each track is very different in how the straight aways, turns, pitstops, starting points, etc. work. It adds to the replay of an already replayable game.
Expansion set #3/#4 is particular nice because one of the boards (Zandvoort 2) connects up to another track for the basic box, producing a double-sized race track, which is very nice for variety's sake.
If you like Formula De, I'd suggest taking a look at the race tracks available and picking a couple of packs that look fun or interesting to you. It'll be worth it.
This game supplement was only marked as "Average" in substance because two tracks for $19.95 is a bit pricy for me. Nevertheless the component quality remains very high and the price is mostly understandable.
