Fudge Factor, a new online roleplaying game magazine located at http://www.fudgefactor.org/, has had its second issue now and it just keeps getting better.
The "About Us" page gives this quick description : "Fudge Factor is a free online magazine dedicated to the advocacy and support of role-playing and the Fudge system." The magazine has four or five articles and an editorial in each issue and comes out at the beginning of the month. As might be expected from a periodical about Fudge, article topics cover a wide range, from meta-gaming ( Imagine That! ) to specific rules for battling robots ( Battlin' Bots, a complete game on its own).
The articles are all quite clear and well written, with very few typos. The web-page presentation is plain and simple (it even looked good in Lynx), more about content than style. It's not boring, though -- there's a nice logo, convenient links to next and previous articles, printer friendly versions (not that the regular page would look that bad when printed) and the latest issue even had a comic strip.
Even if you don't play Fudge, some of the articles are generic enough that they'll be useful, and several of them are intriguing examples of what can be done with the Fudge system. The November 2001 issue even has a tie-in to a commercially released Fudge game from Grey Ghost Games ( sample characters for Terra Incognita). Next time you're online, take a look at Fudge Factor.
