Review of Back for Seconds

Back for Seconds, a supplement for Feng Shui, provides information on named characters and mooks for each of the factions in the Secret War. Many of the named characters are adapted from the Shadow CCG and will be familiar to Shadowfist players.

Six "new" player character types are included for the Dragons: Gambler, Journalist, Magic Cop, Medic, Private Investigator, and Thief. I say "new" because several of these types were mentioned in the main rulebook but complete descriptions were not included. New unique schticks are included for the Everyday Hero, Masked Avenger, Maverick Cop, Ninja, and Old Master. Many of the named characters also include their own unique schticks. A transformed animal package is provided for sharks. Detailed stats, skills, and tactics are provided for groups of mooks with the Architects, Ascended, Lotus (2 groups), Hand (5 groups), and Jammers. Details are also provided for the White Ninja, Netherworld residents, and other nonaligned parties in the Secret War.

Descriptions of seven feng shui sites are included, providing gamemasters with useful ideas for customizing sites in their campaigns. Also included is background information on "Operation Killdeer," a plot by the Ascended to pit the Lotus and the Dragons against each other. Including the information on "Killdeer" in "Back for Seconds" is odd, because "Killdeer" was a Shadowfist supplement that took place before the start of the Feng Shui game chronology. The information on "Killdeer" is interesting but not very useful.
