Review of Systems Failure

WHAT A GREAT GAME!

I'll start with the usual disclaimer, and intro. I'm not a huge fan of Palladium, or Rifts, although I do like thier Fantasy rules. I am 32 with 20 years of that being gaming experience. I like simpler rules systems, as I like to role-play, more than Roll-play. This is officially my FIRST review.

I would also like to say, I read all the other reviews of this game before I purchased it. I don't think these reviews do the game justice, thats why I'm writing this one. However, If you are not familiar with the Palladium Megaverse game system, some of these reviews will be nice, since I won't cover rules here. To often, these reviews go through "Whats in the rulebook", instead of what I want to know: HOW FUN IS THE GAME! Also, If you want to know what the game is about, visit Palladiumbooks.com.

So, How fun is the game? Its great! I barely got through the introductin stories before I started comeing up with Ideas for a campaign (this is what makes or breaks a game for me, and I'm sure other GMs...Just how many adventures could I run in this game?). The world has changed in such an understandable way, as to make adventures easy to write, and fun to play. The characters are perfect for the genre, and the nemisis is an easy tool for the GM to use. This post-apocoliptic game isn't as grim as most, in fact, its all about hope, and its one the PCs can ACTUALLY make a difference in!

Ok, many people say it was out-dated before it was written, since it supposedly happened durring the Y2K bug thing... SO WHAT! So its an alternate future! Role-players have done weirder things, thats for sure!

I will admit some of the interior art and text(visual, not content) are a bit boreing, but the Bug illustrations are cool, and the cover really jumps at you and says "PLAY ME!" Some of the rules are a bit confusing (due to the format) but there are plenty of clubs, and newsgroups on the net to get quick answers to anything you might have a problem with.

In summary, If you like post-apocoliptic games, or want something different, You can't go wrong with this game! Oh by the way did I mention its ONLY $12.95!!!!!!!!!!
