Review of GURPS Undead

Goto [ Index ]
Again, the gang at SJ Games did a good thing. This one's been out for a while, and if you've passed it up before I suggest that you go take a second look. This is one keen book that covers everything you need to know about undead, and how to work 'em into a game.

From the flesh-eating zombies of George Romero and "Resident Evil", to the mummies of old pulp films, to the ever-popular liches of fantasy fiction, this book covers them all. The template system is in use, so you can easily create them as (N)PCs. The usual genres in which the undead appear also receive proper attention, along with all of the information required to make a respectable go of playing within them.

Of course, the usual bit about conversion into other systems applies. In my opinion, this is best for those needing a hand in using the so-called "lesser" undead- and for those wanting to make use of the flesh-eating zombies. Your mileage will vary.

Should you get it? Only if you need it, but that money will be well-spent.
