When I first saw this novel my initial thought was, of great a new line of cheap novels to launch T$R's new RPG. Well fortunately I was wrong, this novel won't compete with say Issac Asimov,but it still has alot of entertainment value. Before I begin with its value for gamers let me provide some information about the story. Gabriel Connor is a young Concord Marine who has been framed for the murder of Concord Ambassador Lauren Delvecchio and several of his friends. He has been expelled from the Marines and now some unknown party wants him dead,and now Gabriel Connor must gamble his life in a vicious game of death of death in order to redeem himself!!
OK so the story is nothing new, but the story is executed well enough that you'll want to read this from cover to cover. The only real problem is the middle gets reeaall ssllooww, so you'll have to endure that pain but other than that's its a solid novel. For gamers its a great roleplaying aid. We see how the politics of the Concord and VoidCorp works. Receive detailed information on several new and old planets of the Verge and for newbies the novel contains a glossary of Star Drive terminology and locations, now I wish more sci-fi novels contained one of those! Plus it has a direct tie-in to the External Alien Conspiracy !!
All Star Drive players should givwe this novel a try.
