Review of Before I kill you, Mr. Bond...

I am now a convert. After a disasterous Babylon 5 tournament (or rather, non-tournament, but that's another rant), I stumbled into my local game store. I kvetched to the owner for a while, kibbitzed to the other players, and moped. Then, I spotted BIKY,MB.

The title appealed to me because I'm a great fan of genre cliches; and nothing's more genre than supervillains who just loooove to gloat. Gloat, gloat, gloat.

BIKY,MB puts you in the role of the super-villain. You attempt to create a lair from which to put your villainous plans in motion, and then kill the spies who invade your lair seeking to destroy them.

Lairs are created with Lair cards, each of which has a value from 1-4. Spies are rated from 1-8. If a spy enters your lair, and has a higher value than it, your lair is destroyed. If the lair value is equal to or higher than the spy's rating, you capture him/her. That's when the fun begins. You see, you can taunt a hero to double their value; a five point hero taunted twice will be worth 20 points (and you need thirty to win). If you play a taunt, and one of your opponents has a taunt card of equal value (all taunts are marked from a-h), they spy escapes & your lair is destroyed.

The game is loads of fun. It's very tongue in cheek (taunts go from "Now, I shall lock you in this dungeon with nothing except your ordinary looking wrist-watch" to "What's Wayne Newton REALLY like?"), and loads of fun. Unless you have no sense of humor to speak of, of course.
