What are the Knights of the Realm? They are the fearless, the vigilant and dedicated crew who run all of the great game events and demo’s at Mirkwood. They may be official reps, judges and the like or they might just be game a enthusiast. In addition to having lots of fun the knights enjoy special status with the crown including such perks as a discount card good toward the purchase of gaming merchandise. How does one become a knight of the realm? First, all would be knights must schedule an event, talk to Clayton at the store or e-mail Mirkwoodcc@aol.com with the details about your event. It could be a role-playing adventure you run, a card game tournament, a board game or what ever. We will check the Calendar to make sure the date and time has no conflicts. One-month notice is recommended to allow enough time for advertising. After a would be Knight schedules an event it’s time to promote. Mirkwood will post the event on our web page and put it in our monthly mailer for you. Alas, to become a knight you must have 4 people attend your event. (Yes, they can be your good friends. No, if only three of them show up you are not a knight) You can also promote your event by word of mouth, some flyers, web posts ect. After you run the event if 4 or more people attended we will punch your discount card for the following month. Example: You run an event in January so your card will be punched for the month of February. The card is good for a 10% discount on all gaming merchandise. It is possible to run an event once a month so that you always have a 10% discount in effect. If you miss a month your discount may not be in effect but you can always run another event in the future.
