The battle of mount Gundabar

A Warhammer 40K beginner campaign

The Story:

Lord Byron looked upon the day with glory. The day he built the most powerful communications satellite in the universe. High utop mount Gundabar the transmitter resides. All the way at the peak tucked away on an unsuspecting planet, until now. One of the emperor's secrets the installation "Sonoma" has remained for a century. Only now has the discovery of this mass communication system been uncovered and the battle for its control was a fearsome one. Lord Byron choose mount Gundaber for it perilous terrain, and only a couple passes allow entrance to the top. Many skirmishes were fought on the paths leading up the mountain. And with it's dreaded peaks looming on high several armies met at all at once toward the peak and gnarled into a frenzy, a frenzy known as the battle of mount Gundabar or to some as Somoma's rage.

This small campaign is for beginner and it's small size makes it manageable for a new player to participate in and actually finish.

Armies:

Choose a force of 500 points. You are required to have 1 HQ and 2 Troop squads. You may also include forces from the other categories (Elites, Fast Attack, and Heavy Support.) but you may not go over 500 points.

The Battles:

The skirmishes leading up to mount Gundabar use the tree campaign found on page 158 of the 40K rule book. You will face a random opponent in a Cleanse mission (pg 138) and then depending on who wins you will go on a Meat Grinder or Take and Hold mission. For the second skirmish you will have a different opponent. After the two skirmishes there will be a big multi-player battle that will take place on the peaks of the mountain. For this final battle you will be assigned a team based on how you did in the skirmishes. The teams will be balanced to make for a good final battle.

Good luck and get those army lists ready! The first night of the campaign is Friday January 21st starting at 6pm.
