Review of Fall From Grace

Last but not least, is the “easiest” way to extra power is to make a deal with a demon. This one would imagine seems good at the time, however you can be sure the demon means no good. All you have to do to go this way is be approached by a demon and make a deal, no suffering involved. You get some kick arse corrupted edges and other advantages. However the bad stuff is that you show up wrong to other hunters and the Demon makes you do bad things under the terms of the deal.
The layout of the book is two starting pieces of fiction, the introduction then four chapters. The first three chapters are stories each relating to a different hunter taking one of each of the three paths. The fourth and final chapter is the rules section. The open fiction is good it sheds a little light on a few old hunter net characters. The introduction lays out what is to follow with the usual ideas for source material. This chapter though gives a few more hints to the history behind hunter (It’ll give those Exalted, WOD arguments some more material) This intro does a good job and sets the scene to follow. Chapter one- The Solitary Road-This piece of fiction follows the exploits of a hunter who reaches the next level by finding the power within. It is written in an interesting fashion, with things happening in a different order than expected. The protagonist of the story is truly cracked by the end.
Chapter 2- Cracked as the Desert ground. –Quite the appropriate title. If the character from the first story was not all there, then the major player in this piece is in another league all together. This is also a good story, and it shows how combat does not have to be part of Hunter at all. The character in this shows how much you have to go through before you get access to the divine route. Man she is one messed up girl.
Chapter three- The Devil you know- What can I say this is an outstanding piece of fiction, it follows the exploits of Rigger111, who in his misadventures “catches” up with a few other Hunter/net favourites, though I’ll say no more about them. This story is about taking the infernal path. The story itself would give a storyteller endless ideas on how to make a PC’s life who made such a deal a endless misery. Kudos to the author in this one.
Chapter four- The rules section, this in a way is the most important part of the book, as it tells you how to implement the issues and things bought up in the proceeding chapters. It covers what hoops the PC’s have to jump through, to get those edges. It also gives advice on how to incorporate it into you r campaign, also on how to end the characters life. As with this extra powers the characters are like the proverbial candle the shines twice a brightly. It also detail new divine and corrupted edges. It covers this material and more easily and in an informative way that is easy to digest and add to your campaign.
Over all I think this is a good addition to your Hunter collection, even if you have no plans to let your characters make it that far, it gives you a real insight into what makes those extreme hunters tick (Nothing human let me tell you) So it could also be used as a great source for Off balanced hunter the PC’s come across.
