Descent Into Darkness is the first campaign installment for the Trinity game system from White Wolf Publishing. It contains rough-and-tumble sections for the players that is presented in a characteristic fashion for Trinity. Color sections are player's material that details events and situations that pertain to each adventure. The adventures are linked to one another, and eventually progress towards a suprising climax.

Players are members of the Order of Psions, psychers with a special gift and mission to protect humanity at all costs from evil invaders known as the Aberrants. The Trinity is the organization that oversees the orders, and makes sure they follow the path of good. Without giving too much away, the players are assigned by their respective orders, to see if the Order of Healers is delving into 'forbidden' research. This takes the players to Luna, where conspiracies lie just beneath the polished surface of the moon.

This book also brings into view material for Luna and Mars. These were left out for space reasons in the original rule book. Also, players and Storytellers would do well to play in the adventure within the GM screen prior to playing this series.

As much as the book catches the eye, it also has a major drawback. The material intended for the players to read is lengthy, full color, and cannot be removed from the book without causing considerable damage and loss of value to the book itself. Players are 'suppossed' to read the color sections ONLY, but curious players can easily become wrapped up in the book and stray into the adventure area.

Overall, this adventure series met all expectations. It has adventure, intrigue, and action. Players of all areas of expertise can expect a serious challenge in figuring out these three tales of 'Hope, Sacrifice, and Unity.'
