Review of The Iron Crown
It's graphics are dated, the converastion engine is nonexistent and the combat system is old. I love it! The dialogue itself is filled with humor, and the cities are filled to the brim with diffrent characters with their own miniquests to offer. The game does include some 100 spells, and the combat system, unlike that of most RPGs, has you issuing orders to party memebers and then seeing the results played in first person on screen. There are 8 characters that will join and leave the party as the story unfolds, and each has their abilities, pet peeves, and fears. Go into the mountains and the city-born thief will start shivering and complaining about the cold. The story takes place in Tyrth, a feudal world where cities are ruled by families. House Drakkor, a northern clan, has kidnapped the heir of House Cordilyon. You play a Cordilyon squire, Duncan, who becomes involved in the betrayal and intrigue of the court. Over the story you are killed, betrayed, and almost executed by the new head of your own house. It's a bit big for a freeware, taking up some 40+ mbs. The game features music and a few line sof recorded dialogue along with lots of typed dialogue(much like Baldur's Gate).
Style: 4 (Classy and well done)
Substance: 5 (Excellent!)
