Review of Killer Clowns
The format is great because it works on several levels. Besides giving the GM a sense of how the adventure should unfold, the story format helps provide a sense of the gaming world that many new GM's unfamiliar with the setting may have trouble grasping.
John Goff is known to both Deadlands and Hell on Earth fans as the ultimate killer GM. His scenarios are uniformly deadly and uniformly awesome, and Killer Clowns is no exception.
Without giving away too much of the plot, the party is on a resuce mission into an amusement park where no one is having a great deal of fun. Anyone who has ever been at a carnival or theme park at closing time is certainly aware how creepy such places can be. Throw in the supernatural aspects of Hell on Earth and the screaming the party does will not be on account of the roller coaster (well, actually it will but not in the way you'd usually think).
This book is a must-have for any HOE GM, or even anyone looking to run a haunted amusment park adventure in any setting.
