Review of Incident At Exile
Incident At Exile is Alternity's new Fast Play Rules adventure. For those of you wandering what the Fast Play Rules are, they are simply the core Alternity rules scaled down to help introduce people to the Alternity game. In this case you get 19 pages of rules explaining what is roleplaying, the rules, some pre-generated characters and another 28 pages dedicated to the adventure. The adventure itself involves a group of characters discovering an uninhabited alien ship on the fringes of outer space, and the adventure they have exploring the ship. That may not sound exciting, but this adventure is only meant to serve as an introduction to the Alternity game, which it does very well. It has lots of opportunity for the PCs to explore, roll dice, plus combat is kept to a minimum, but there are other hazards to keep the PCs interested.
TSR deserves alot of props for this adventure. Its a simple adventure that's not very complicated, but interesting enough to keep player's involved, but I must say for vetern Alternity players this adventure might provide an idea or two but that's all you will get from this adventure. Also to note is the production value of this adventure. Its 47 pages of full color Illustations, on quality paper, though some of the artwork is stock illustations from the PHB, and GMG books.
In conclusion at $4.95 you can't go wrong. It will make an excellant stocking stuffer for Christmas, and if you don't like it you won't regret buying the game.
