Review of Tribe 8 Weaver's Screen and Assistant

The Screen itself is three-panel cardstock, and is visually stunning on the outside with a kind of "extended version" of the Tribe 8 rulebook's cover. Inside it includes what few major tables there are in the rulebook, and is laid out so that the combat/action oriented material is to the left, the Skill, Eminence and Aspect lists to the center, and the Synthesis and Sundering information to the right. I have yet to find anything that I wish was on the table.
The Weaver's Assistant is a handy little book. It is divided into three Chapters: "Weaving Revisited", "Enemy of my Enemy", and "NPCs and Archetypes."
The information on Gamemastering is very well-done, covering aspects of theme, atmosphere, how to start and end Cycles, and how to portray various people and places in the Tribe 8 setting. The insight into the various Tribes, Fallen Outlooks and Z'bri Houses fleshes them out a bit more.
"Enemy of My Enemy" is a Quest intended to start a Tribe 8 Cycle - it actually ties directly into the events that happen in Children of Lilith. While I haven't run the scenario, yet, it seems to be rather well thought out and put together and (unlike some other Dream Pod 9 scenarios I've seen) not dependent on using pregenerated PCs. A small section of outcomes and adventure hooks offers enough spin offs and subsequent events to keep a Tribe 8 group happy for a time.
The None-Player Characters and Archetypes section includes all of the NPCs in Enemy of my Enemy, as well as 14 or so generic archetypes. Several of them have cropped up in my Cycle already, and I'm sure that I'll use more.
The most glaring problem I can see with the Weaver's Screen and Assistant (aside from the small typos that seem to creep into Dream Pod 9 products) is the price for what you're getting. Unless you're a big Dream Pod 9 , it may not be worth the price for the small bit of information that you get, no matter how good it is. I would only recommend buying it if you are a hardcore Tribe 8 Weaver (or get it discount online or somewhere else)
