Review of StreetCar
Track tiles vary in complexity from the simplest, which are straight or simple 90 degree turns, through to the most complex, which can be crossroads or all sorts of junctions. Players may replace sections of track with more complex track provided they maintain the original route, so a straight piece of track could be replaced with a T junction or a set of points for example.
Once a player has completed their route, they reveal it to the other players and commence the run in their model streetcar. Streetcars may only move one space more than the last streetcar that was moved. Streetcars must also stop at every stop on their route - whether it appears on their route card or not. This can result in some quite strategic movement whereby players try to maximise the distance they cover whilst trying to minimise the distance other streetcars move.
Evaluation
The pieces are all of good quality, but a minor niggle is that it's very easy to knock the track pieces out of alignment. A slight(!) design change to fix pieces to the board somehow would do wonders for the game.
The rules are a cinch to pick up. I've only met one person who found them difficult (and to be honest, snakes and ladders would have been tricky to teach him). It's quite a quick game, usually taking about 45 minutes to an hour to complete.
It's a good solid stitch up your mates game, and can take up to six players. I like it.
