Review of Maul of America
We contacted the company and they sent us replacement pieces and even sent them priority mail which was nice. The guy who I talked to explained the box was big because it didn't affect price.
But even with that, the game is probably about $5 dollars too much.
The game is a bunch of shoppers trying to escape from zombies in a mall. We liked the modular maps so it wasn't just a regular map. The store names are funny, but the map colors weren't very varied.
WE had a blast killing zombies and after we got past the fact that zombies appear pretty quickly, we found there is some strategy in deciding when to run away from zombies and when to kill them, especilly because you can run out of ammunition.
This isn't a game that will change ytour life or require deep thinking but we enjoyed playing it as a quick game because the game has a time limit in it of two hours. Our group would recommend this game for an evening where you want to kill stuff, but may not have lots of time.
Style: 3 (Average)
Substance: 5 (Excellent!)
