CTHULHU CULT

High Priest Venger Satanis

“The Cult of Cthulhu is founded upon what I believe, and my beliefs are built upon an elder wisdom. I didn’t create this teaching from nothing; I pieced it together using my own faculties combined with impressions from Higher Minds and Hidden Masters… from the Great Old Ones Themselves! They manifest through me, Venger Satanis the Cult of Cthulhu High Priest. I am Their brother, friend, and disciple. In exchange, the Dark Gods have granted me tremendous power.”

This book is considered to be a "bible" for followers of this tradition and it is a great source for the curious who wish to know of this path's beliefs, views and expectations of its followers. Page 119 will give you a list and explanation of the cult's degree system and this mini tome covers subjects such as Unification, Laws, Spiritual Politics, Awakening, Chaos and of course Lovecraft to name a few of it's chapters.

I have read and do know of sects within the Lefthand Path who do incorporate the Cthulhu Mythos within their rituals and belief systems and I can see where "The Mythos" is beneficial in relation to meditation, dream and astral workings and also where the Lovecraftian philosophy can fit into an occult way of thinking or at least inspire it. The book or bible of the Cthulhu Cult though takes this to a different level making it a unique writing, philosophy, belief and magical system in compairisson to anything else that has been written on this subject.

The Cthulhu Cult's author and High Priest Venger Satanis wants to open everyone's eyes and make us see the true reality of the universe and it's intentions for us and how we can over come it. Through ritual transformation and perfecting our way of thinking, helping us to reach higher levels to become strong not through individualization but through awareness and connection with others who are "awake", helping us to prepare for when the Ancient Old Ones return

Mixing in a twisted blend of LeVey's Satanic philosophy with H.P.Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos and throwing in an exteme influence of both Chaos Magick along with the teachings from the path of The Fourth Way makes the Cthulhu Cult a diverse path as well as an entertaining and unique read.

I do know that most occultist do laugh at anyone claiming to be a practioner of the" Lovecraftian ways" or who even father the idea of using anything borrowed from Lovecraft's books but I don't wish to become so stagnant in my thoughts and like to keep an open mind which is what I did when reading the Cthulhu Cult and as someone who researches on various paths and teachings within the occult sciences I am thankful towards Venger Satanis for giving me the opportunity to have read this book.

“The celebrants threw the raw innards of sacrificed humans upon the gruesome, amphibian idol. At first my archaeology team and I surmised this primitive tribe worshipped none other than the sleeping Cthulhu God. Much to our horror, we were no more correct than if apes believed themselves to be the most superior beings upon earth.

The Thing was uncouth and vomitous! It was the form of a furry bat-frog creature (we were later informed the tribe called it Tsathoggua). It noisily erupted from a jagged chasm in the cavern’s rocky floor. By yellowish vapor and violet flame, the toad God bathed his shamans in some psychic, mind-meld communication. The priests of the creature then began to change. Our team did not think it necessary to tarry.”

- Dr. Kalthree’s Account in South America, 1932

Due to this book being the only one of it's kind in that it is a bible for the Cthulhu Cult and not just a book on the subject I cannot give this work a rating but I would like to recommend it to anyone wishing to expand their knowledge in the study of untraditional esoteric paths.
