Review of Fairy
Freebooter Miniatures brings another character to their Faeries line up with FAR 002, a female Fairy by Werner Klocke

The mini comes with the following pieces:

Base: Standard one inch hollow base.

Base Lid: A quick slot for the top of the base with two holes for the feet of the Fairy. The base is not a standard unadorned base, but has some plant sculptures already added to it.

Main Body: The main body of the figure includes leg, head, and left arm. There was no excess flash on the figure and the mold line is on the right side following the back of her hip and is so small as to be almost unnoticable unless you’re looking for it.

Wings: Two separate pieces for the wings ane each is slotted for the back of the figure. Slots are easy to assemble.

Sprue: This includes the right arm, carrying the spear, as well as more hair that goes to her back side. The arm is slotted, as is the hair, but those who are going to use this as a game piece, may want to very carefully add some pinning to secure the join.

The figure was easy to assemble, but I haven’t decided what to do with the paint style. In general terms, it’s definatly an adult piece as it has no shirt nor any effort to use it’s hair to conceal it’s breasts. In addition, since it’s a fairy, I’m used to seeing these on a much smaller scale. Still, I can’t help but think this might be useful for something liek Fairy Meat by Kenzer and Company.

Like many of the Freebooter figures, this one is well sculpted in terms of detail on the face and hair. Like many figures, it’s not one that is going to be using drybrushing and washing as it’s a very smooth figure. Add this to the assembly, and I wouldn’t recommend this as anyone’s first miniature.

This figure comes out on June 2nd, and will retail for 9.50 in Euros from the Freebooter site directly,
