REVIEW OF Larry Leadhead The Gamer's Comic Strip
www.larryleadhead.org has been around for a 4 years now and puts out weekly comic strips that encapsulate the miniatures wargaming experience. Many sites syndicate the strip increasing its exposure.

This book is the first compendium of strips in print form. Many of the strips can be found in the archive of Larry's website, and if you are reading this you obviously have internet access. Take a trip over there once your done here and see for yourself.

The skinny, the book is 48 pages digest sized (8.5 by 5.5 inches ), contains 140 B&W strips. for 9.99 it won't cut into your gaming budget and could provide you and your group with a few laughs.

Leadhead is the archytopical wargamer, and his comedy is aimed towards exploring the stereotypes of our hobby. There are a lot of characters and situations that we all with find familar. Much of the comedy revolves around Larry's interation with his non-gaming wife. A good subtitle for the book would be 'A Wife's Guide to understanding Wargamers'. My own non-gaming wife chuckled at the occasional strip saying it totally reminded her of me. Not only is my wie a non-gamer, but she's japanese as well and comedy is always hard translated across cultural borders.

Anyways for the wargamer there are plenty of strips featuring situations all wargamers will find in common with their own experiences, from dice rolling jokes to bemoaning our obsession with historical accuracy.

One note, there are no RPG related jokes, the bend of the strip is definitely towards Wargames.

Well worth a look.
