I love Dwarven Forge. Their material is great to work with. It's sturdy and impressive. The modular nature allows a lot of variety in its use. The three dimensional nature really enhances any game that uses lots of miniatures in their RPG like the d20 system does.

Having said that, there are problems. The first is that it's expensive. The second is that it takes up a lot of space both on and off the table. The third is that it takes a lot of time to put together and take apart the sets.

Are there any happy alternatives for individuals who may be time pressed or don't have a house to store the goods? Skeleton Key Games comes to the rescue with e-Adventure Tiles: Cave Passages.

Consisting of twenty two pages that come in either color or black and white, the product allows the user to print out the sections they need. For those unused to the idea of cutting and taping, Ed covers that in a separate instruction book with bonus tiles. The tiles included range from long passages and slime filled cavern endings to curved caves. Some of these have other art on them like the pit passage or the Corner Passage 3 with its start symbol. The only bad thing is that for the pit passage, there isn't a regular one that you can lay down and then remove when the party walks over it.

The art is up to Ed's normal goods. Each square is the standard 5' for ease of use in actual game play. The pages are centered for ease of cutting, allowing the user to put together even a moderate sized cavern encounter in a matter of minutes.
