Beyond the Thousand Hells, beyond the false, hollow "Heavens" of the Far Shores, below Stygia, waits the Labyrinth. The Labyrinth is the home, prison, and playground of Spectres, ghosts who have been consumed by their Shadows and transformed into pathetic and horrifying mockeries of their past lives, if they even remotely resemble anything human at all. DOOMSLAYERS: INTO THE LABYRITH is a sourcebook for White Wolf's WRAITH: THE OBLIVION detailing the Labyrith, new information on Spectres (including two new castes; Haints and Apparitions) and most importantly, Doomslayers themselves. Most wraiths fight the Oblivion War within themselves, in battles with their shadow over who will control their soul. Doomslayers are those wraiths so brave, mad, or driven that they enter the Labtrinth to take the war directly to the spectral enemy. The book details two organised orders of Doomslayers: The Order of the Thorn, a knightly military order, and the Martyr Knights, an academic order that studies Oblivion, experiments on captured spectures, and acts as a sort of secret police , spying on Hierarchy officials for years to detect any hint of Oblivion's touch. Also detailed are the Helldivers, Masquers who warp both corpus and mind to go deep undercover in spectral society, and Darksiders, Pardoners who act as "spirtual field medics" to Doomslayers behind enemy lines. Rules are also included for 'Slayers to learn and use spectral "dark arcanoi", allowing them to turn the enemy's own weapons against them, but at great risk to their own souls. A few new Artifacts, skills! , arts and merits appropriate to Spectre hunting are provided, none of which seem like they would produce balance problems in more conventional W:TO chronicles. The second half of the book provides more information on Spectres and the Labyrinth, most of which would be very usefull to any troupes actually running chronicles with Spectre P.C.s, or with wraiths on long-term trips into the Labyrinth, but of limited use to others. What really sets DOOMSLAYERS apart from most W:TO products is it's mood. The underworld of the Doomslayer is one of constant, total guerilla warfare, a crusade against a foe with limitless manpower on his home turf. Players who want a more dynamic and action-oriented WRAITH chroncle than usual will find a cause worth harrowing for in the Oblivion War.
