This little figures are not your standard fantasy figures, and I would expect you to use them as such. That said, they’re downright nifty creations for younger gamers to have some fun with.

These figures are well-articulated, with arms that swing and pivot. Their hands can grip a variety of accessories (which you can mix & match between sets). The legs move together, but that’s so you can keep them standing upright.

I’ve got about a half dozen of them.

This wizard comes with a little knee-high dragon; the king with a lion; one of the knights has a large horse he can ride. All of them have a variety of weapons and some have helmets, too. All of these are interchangeable.

What’s great about them is that they’re fun props for storytelling with the younger kids. It’s not all about fighting and hacking and slashing, but also about a wizard whose spells can backfire and some knights who have to trick and ogre to steal his treasure chest...

I basically bought all the “small” (i.e. non-building) sets, which include a good array of accessories and interchangeable parts. I didn’t spend more than $5 on any one of them; altogether, they were less than $25.

Admittedly, there are some things lacking: you have to buy one of the big sets for buildings and walls and such. There are no female figures that I’ve found yet. They are not true role-playing figures, so their utility is limited to younger kids.

But for the money, it’s not a bad deal, especially if you’ve got a rugrat that wants to “play big kids’ games with daddy.”
