Please note: This is a self-review by the publisher of the game. I am attempting to be as honest as possible in my appraisal, and would welcome you to try the game for free at http://www.tpbress.cjb.net
This simple game allows players and gamemasters to quickly create characters in a fantasy setting. The information here is sparse (but since that is the point, it's hard to use that as a criticism...). The 2D system is really basic, and players who prefer a quick system on which to hang broader fantasy games (focused more on story than the mechanic) should find this to their liking. Combat resolution is quick. Character creation is quick. The game moves. Wargamers and those who like specific guidelines for every situation will likely not find this to be their cup of tea, however. Also, the simplicity of the system limits the number of possibilities for spells, skills and character advancement. For example, the game includes 60 spells and 18 disciplines, so there is a degree of variety- although not the variety of many other systems. For twenty-four pages, this is a surprisingly complete, playable and functional system. | |
