One of the unsung jewels of the gaming industry is the pay 'zine Pyramid magazine produced weekly by Steve Jackson Games.

With this reviews I want to let the reader know why he or she may want to subscribe.

Pyramid is a weekly electronic periodical with gaming articles and reviews on a diverse mix of games. Its not as you might have heard a Steve Jackson Games house organ

Games covered include but are not limited Over the Edge, Unknown Armies, Kult, The Whispering Vault, Deadlands (original and SJ games version) D&D (1st, 2nd and 3rd edition) Ars Magica, Various LARPS and of course GURPS and In Nominie.

More than half of the articles in a given week are generic "advice" articles or usable with several systems so no matter what you are playing there will be something for you.

As an added bonus there are several regular columns,Chad Underkoffler's bi weekly campaign in a box- which is just what it sounds like a systemless campaign setup, Ken Hite's fantastic conspiracy high weirdness Suppressed Transmission and two comics, John Kovalic's Dork Tower and the hilarious Murphy's rules.

Each week there are 3 or 4 professional reviews covering board games, RPG accessories and any non Steve Jackson RPG.

I also like the fact that they don't review their own stuff; this avoids some bias and is in my opinion Very Classy.

In addition to the game coverage there are also many discussions boards available.

The Pyramid boards are friendly, informative and have a high signal to noise ratio. This is accomplished mainly on account of the many groups oriented toward "off topic” discussion

Board include

Chatter Sports Computers Movies TV Books General Roleplaying Two Industry Oriented boards, A GURPS board A group for just about every Steve Jackson game and even a market place to sell your games,

Another bonus all Pyramid subscribers are eligible to become playtesters.

Recent playtests have included books for GURPS, In Nominie, Silver Age Sentinels, Terra Incognita and other products from SJ Games Grey Ghost Games and Guardians of Order.

If you feel you still haven't gotten your moneys worth there is a continuouly growing archive over 2796 articles in the database.

Not bad for only $15 a year

If you would like to see what Pyramid articles are like you get a sample at

Feel free to skim the articles in the database as well. Who knows, you may find a few freebies.

If you like what you see tell them I sent you I can use a free month....
