So you have a unique character whose special abilities and talents are so vast that no one character sheet can hold them over? Well perhaps you need Green Ronin’s Character Record Folio. This is a 18-page character sheet that provides even the most detail hungry player the means to record all the information his little heart desires.

The book starts off with the interior cover, Important Charts. This includes the level, xp, class skill max ranks, cross-class skills, feats, ability increases, base save bonus, base attack bonus for all the classes, strength table, coin exchange table and attack roll modifier table.

The second page is the most general one, applicable to all characters. It includes basic information such as class, name, race, level, alignment, deity, stats, saving throws, hit points, melee combat, ranged combat, and armor class. The third page is skills, feats and languages. It doesn’t leave enough slots of craft and knowledge skills, as more and more d20 books come out with examples of said skills, the need for more places to record them crows. There also needs to be more blank spaces so that skills no included in the basic SRD have room to be listed.

The fourth page is for general information like physical traits, battle cry, personal quote, personality traits and space for an illustration. The bottom half is for animal companions, wizardly familiar, or mount.

The fifth page is a listing for equipment including a space for name, notes, location and weight. The second half of the sheet is for secondary weapons, and coins carried.

The sixth page is for magical items while the bottom half provides the player with a quick reference on the limit of magic items worn as well as an illustration to mark them down.

The seventh page is an advancement tracker that provides the player, and the GM, with starting ability scores, hit points, and experience points. There is a section for 2nd to 20th level where the player records the hit points gained, ability scores, feats and skills. In my opinion, this should’ve been on the third page under general information while the animal companion would make a good compliment to the second half of this page, which is gems, jewelry and other valuables.

Page eight is psionics and includes spaces for number of psionic powers known, attack modes, defense modes, power points and other psionic related information.

Page nine does the same thing for spells with a listing for bards, clerics, druids, paladin, sorcerer, wizards and clerical domains. Page ten is linked to page eight in that it’s a listing where players can write down their spells. Page eleven is a repeat of page nine.

Page twelve provides the player with space for cohorts & followers with mini-character sheets that include name, basic information like stats, saves, hit points and ac. There are four mini-sheets.

Page thirteen is a listing of contacts and includes six slots for players to fill in names, locations, allegiances, areas of specialty, rates and favors owed.

Page fourteen, if used, is a blessing for GMs because it’s an adventure log. There are four slots for players to fill in adventure names, companions, villains, events, outcome and clues. Page fifteen is a continuation of thirteen with another four slots.

Page sixteen is miscellaneous notes. Page seventeen is stats of legend, a collection of the biggies that the player has suffered and inflicted such as most enemies slain in one round, total monsters slain, biggest treasure haul, and other non-vital, but boastful information. The majority of the page is taken up with the open game license.

Page eighteen, the rear interior cover, is a weapon chart.

If you own the first printing, there are a few differences between the two sheets. The first is that the interior covers are used. The second is that this one is darker, making it a little harder to copy. The paper used is also different, less glossy but feels a little heavier. There are now two pages of Grimoire to hold spells, instead of one. The miscellaneous notes and stats of legend are also new to the folio.

The usefulness of such a sheet is varied and will depend on how much the player utilizes it. I’m hoping that Green Ronin will make a much more customized downloadable sheet that includes a listing of spells and psionics. That is already designed for specific classes. In the meanwhile, this is one of the most comprehensive character sheets already out there and should see good use for those long-lived legends that players love to brag about. I can already see some players exchanging sheets so that that can flip to the back and compare kills and damage inflicted against enemies.
