Surprised this awesome title hasn't be reviewed before...

I came across TFOS as a teenager in the mid to late 80's. Growing up on movies like My Science Project, Real Genius and Wierd Science I was thrilled to see how easy it was to translate this classic eighties culture into a well rounded, exceptionally fun and easy to understand RPG.

Talsorian, as a producer of RPGs exert quality in every title and TFO's is no exception. The artwork is befitting of the material, the material suitably silly and allows room for the imagintion to do some work and you would have to be brain dead to not run a fun, humorous campaign given the absurdity of the material.

From memory, the games I ran were solo adventures. These don't always run that well, unless you have great NPC's so I focused on that side of the development. My settings and objectives were kept fairly simple and an evening play would commonly consist of misfired gloop gums, sex changes, interdimesional teeny boppers, galactic mall wars and the obligatory alien interruption just as the players are about to get down and dirty with the opposite sex. I generally kept things light and fluffy. After playing Cyberpunk (also from Talsorian) and lots odf AD&D, this was a welcomed, humorous relief.

I sold the first edition (outgrew all that stuff) and now that I have regressed I am kicking myself for it. So a second edition is on the way. Take a break from Vampire, D&D, and all that other darkness. Get inspired, throw in a few eighties movies, a suitable soudtrack in the background (ala oingo boingo) and kick back to some good fun. As a GM you will be surprised how easy it is to run, and how much fun you will have yourself. 10/10
