The blurb on the cover promises detailed essays on 15 ships, game statistics, complete deck plans (for us with the Star Wars Miniatures Battles rules), sample ships, with quirks and everything, and full-color ship recognition cards.

Lets just go through what was promised and see what was delivered:

  • there are essays on the ships, but half a page to a third of a page doesn't allow enough space for any detail;
  • there are game statistics;
  • there are deck plans, but there isn't a scale, thus these plans seem useless for miniatures battles;
  • there are sample ships, with quirks, but they just seem boring;
  • and there are some nice cards, which are awful to tear out.

    This could have been a nice product, but this is just a package of glorified deck plans. All of the interesting stuff on how to modify a starship is found in Platt's Smugglers Guide, and Tramp Freighters. This gets an "F." There was a lot of potential here, but West End wasted it!
