The world of Conspiracy X is one of paranoia and mystery. A world very much like our own, but with a few of the X-Files' optional extras fitted, and a lot of men in black helicopters. The players: Aegis agents, supposedly the "good guys", a very subjective term, the Black Book: bad guys, from a certain point of view, both higher-than-government agencies operating across the world in a ultra secret not-so-cold war operating under the publics noses. To make things more interesting power hungry groups of supernatural magicians mix it up with cryptozologists who no a little too much. And then there are the aliens....

This source book gives you a detailed history and background of one of the three groups of aliens that have visited the earth, the Atlanteans. Woefully under-realised in teh Mainbook this supplement finally gives them the attention they deserve. Included in the entrance fee is the usual high quality Eden printing and artwork, as well as a fully fleshed adventure ready to run at the end of the book.

The "meat" of this supplement gives you the background of this enigmatic race. Without giving too much away I can safely say it touches on a whole lot of human myth and legend, from the obvious Atlantis story, to the Egyptians and Mayans, as well as other ancient civilisations, and the Atlanteans continuing effect on our society and development. The background is helpfully divided into sections, some of which the players can learn from there Aegis resources, and some which are GM only, to be found out through gameplay, if at all. This is most helpful and allows GM's to give the players the book, with certain chapters to read, and then run games, instead of having to spend time working out how to fill the players in without giving away too much.

Also dealt with is the races connections with both Aegis and the Black Book as well as other "lesser" organisations.

For GM's hungry to use the new backgrounds in there games, or just those that need some new life to their bad guy of the week a section details new toys for you to play with. Everything from robotic servants to 4m long rifles is covered, as well as severla new nano-technologies and some impressive new ways of carrying the equipment.

For the players, as well as the new technology, there is a whole new player background in the form of one of the Forgotten.

Overall this is a brilliant gaming aid which no Conspiracy X GM should be without. It brings life to one of the most interesting and enigmatic groups in the Con-X world, and you can find a number of adventure possibilities just by reading the players background. If you haven't played the game, try it. If you have, get this book.
