"Howling Wilderness", is an sourcebook published for GDW's "Twilight 2000", post-WW3 role playing game.

The book was designed to enable GM's to carry their campaigns from mid/late 2000 on to May/June 2001.

It begins with campaign background history, a list of atomic targets, details of Civilian & Military government forces and outline information on what happens to those forces & the extreme right-wing New America organisation as a result of the climactic disruption cause by the nuclear strikes.

The remainder of the book is taken up with a state by state description of the effects of the nuclear initiated drought.

The problem with the book is that while it provides the GM with information on how to take the PC's to the 'bottom of the pit', as it were, it provides no information on the recovery of the US from disaster.

Presumably this information was to be included in a later book which was not printed owing to GDW's collapse.

This book is recommended only to "Twilight 2000" completists.
