Ed. note: This is a review of 1st edition Fluxx. Apparently
2nd edition is out, in color, with some card changes and other improvements.
ICE wanted to make the distinction, enjoy this review!
Fluxx is a card game that is so simple, that you already know how to play. You start with the basic rule card in play. It tells you to deal each player 3 cards, at the begining of the game. On your turn you draw 1 card and play 1 card. That's all there is to it. If a card has a special rule, then that rule is listed on the card. The game is fast (1-20 min.). It is fun to play and playing a good stratagy, doesn't mean you are going to win. Most games are won by luck. But the fun comes in using a combination of cards to do intresting things, like having all the other players give you their best card and having them discard the rest of their hand. The cards are simple and in black & white. This is definiately a game for the easily amused and not for a serious gamer. I would recomend Fluxx for children, who can read.
