Surfing the newsgroups, I came across a blurb in rec.games.frp.announce which I believe was about a new RPG called Waste World

I surfed to their page Waste World Datacore to check it out. Awesome artwork there. Cinematic Anime inspired Violence. Sounds good to me. So I called Pinnacle Entertainment, the US distributors, and ordered it for myself.

The artwork is wonderful. Captures the mood and feel of this Post-Apocalyptic world nicely. Odd, European spellings to words. All helps to lend a feeling of a different planet descended from our own (US Centrism there).

Rules: Well laid out. Simple to understand. On the web site is a short article on quick character creation. Makes it easy for people like me to get started.

So, awesome artwork. Decent system. Good buy. The setting has lots of good mental images for me to use in the setting or to use in another system if I wanted. There are 6 main factions, each embracing a different point of view. From the very strict Shogunate to the ruined, landscape dwelling Skavengers, there should be something here for about everyone. With a little thought, long campaigns of deceit and intrigue could be run. Or tons of good, mindless, violence. All possible in the Waste World.

Style: 4 (Classy and well done)
Substance: 4 (Meaty)
