This product contains a three page Weaver Screen and a booklet entitled Weaver's Assistant. This booklet is intended to help build on the Weaver advice in the main rulebook and provide suggestions for running cycles (mythic campaigns), a sample cycle, and a collection of NPCs.

Screen

Material: The screen has a plastic coated outer cover and a glossed inner cover, though the screen itself is fairly thin.

Artwork: The outer cover art work is best seen when the screen is closed. The one page not visible when the screen is closed is blank other than the Tribe 8 texturing, the other side page contains three small color graphics, while the central page contains the Tribe 8 symbol, much like the rulebook's front cover.

Game Mechanics: The mechanics on the Screen are split into three main groups, one on each page. On the left most page is a basic collection of rules for the Silhouette system. The central page contains lists of skills, eminences, and aspects. These tables seem more useful in character creation than game play, but may be of some use. The third page contains the specific magic related tables of Tribe 8. These include tables for degrees of success, loss of equilibrium, and modifiers for each kind of magic.

Assistant

There is a substantial amount of art in this booklet, most of it quite good. But if you have the main book you've seen most of it.

Weaving Revisited: This chapter provides about twice as much Weaver advice as the equivalent chapter in the main book. While that advice mainly centered around quests, the Weaver's Assistant provides more complex and advanced concepts for use in Cycles. Many of these are standard fare, but a few, such as forshadowing and change of persona, are not often used in other games. In addition the Assistant provides a short synopsis of the major players in Tribe 8 with an eye towards potential plot and thematic opportunities.

The Enemy of my Enemy: This sample cycle contains two acts, with three scenes each. Each of these scenes would need to be fleshed out a little further, but can easily be a one to two session adventure. The basic premise of this cycle is a Joshuan is discovered by a group of Dahlians and Fallen. Throw in a meaner than usual Terasheban judge and a nicer than usual Z'bri loner, and things go from bad to worse. The only real problem with this cycle is that as events proceed the Z'bri and the Joshuan become mostly just plot hooks that start each new scene. This problem is even more noticeable in the four sketched cycles which can occur after this one. Also at one point the characters encounter a Fatima, but this scene lacks any significant detail in how to handle this encounter, other than as deus ex machine.

NPC's and Archetypes: This section contains seven NPC's directly used in the cycle, as well as sixteen general archetypes. About half of these are used in the cycle, the rest are potentially useful. Some highlights include Joanite Weaponsmith, Barren Agnite, and Z'bri Monstrosity. The only problem with this list is that is contains primarily tribal characters, with no explicit Fallen or Keepers.
