This is the first novel in the Hunter the Reckoning series, Predator and Prey.
This novel has very little to do with the Hunters, and instead concerns itself with a Toreador vampire named Micheal Luther, and his search for evidence about his dead Childe. It deals with the politics of the vampire population of Iron Rapids, Michigan, and a cover up regarding his childe's death while on a raid into Sabbat held Detroit. I don't want to give away any plot points, so I won't. This novel deals with how vampires deal with the humans around them, and the terrible things they do that make those humans become Imbued, or hunters. It was well written, and has a few brief scenes involving a Malkavian molesting first an 8 year old boy, and then a priest..... fun stuff. Anyhoo, I suggest picking it up, as it is especialy valuable for Vampire players, especialy those who frequently deal with mortals.
