While the quickstart isn't compatible with the real game due to it only having five stats (which are not the stats on this fine character sheet) the character sheet is the real deal.

In standard White Wolf fashion the topmost section contains space for your name, your character's name, as well as clan affiliation. Here "clan" is replaced with "caste" as that is the type of "character class" used in this White Wolf product. There is also space for character concept as well as nature and something called "anima." The leftmost third of this section is taken up by the Exalted logo, which can be nice for people who play multiple games, especially multiple White Wolf games since their character sheets have similar layout across lines. Even if you don't play other White Wolf products the logo isn't obtrusive, and no key information is forced onto another page because the logo takes up a couple inches.

The second section of the character sheet contains the standard nine Attributes found in all White Wolf games. One major difference between this and other White Wolf sheets is that the attibutes aren't placed into Physical/Mental/Social categories possibly because players will not be forced to prioritize by group. As always the attributes are rated from one to five and the first dot is already filled in.

Below the attributes are the skills ("Abilities" in White Wolf parlance). These are divided up by caste rather than talent/skill/knowledge. Each caste gets five skills. The skills are broad enough to work fine without a slew of others being added. There is a box next to the name for each skill for reasons unknown until I buy the actual book. Finishing out the Abilities box is space for the player to write down up to five specialties. Like Attributes, the Abilities are rated from one to five, though the first dot is not filled in.

About halfway down we get past the mundane stuff and on to the juicy bits. There is enough room for ten Backgrounds rated from one to five, as is the White Wolf standard. In other White Wolf games there was not enough room for backgrounds. Whether the space for ten means that Achilli and company want to give the players more room to do their thing, or because the characters will have more cool stuff is unknown until I get the whole book. Either way would be nice.

Right next to the space for backgrounds is space for up to twenty charms as well as the cost of each. As usual I do not know if "charms" means magical items or special powers the characters have. I will know when I get the book, but for now I know another sheet will be needed for descriptions of the charms. This is pretty much unavoidable so I can't fault the Wolfies.

There are four short (third the width of the sheet not counting margins) lines to write in your weapons. Willpower gets the normal ten dots and ten boxes. There are four "tempers" rated from one to five. These are Compassion, Temperance, Conviction, and Valor. Each of these has boxes as well as dots indicating you can spend points of virtue to do things a la Hunter.

There are four short line under "Anima" for either a discription or other "Anima"-esque stuff. Directly under Anima in the left-most column are ten boxes with the ominous label of "Limit Break." A couple of lines with the label "Virtue Flaw" finishes out the left column.

The bottom of the middle column has the character's health status, including soak against blunt, lethal and aggravated damage. Characters have five boxes of health before losing dice. There are also five boxes of health at the -1 level. Either there are ten boxes of health at the -2 level or the -3 level was left off the layout. There is only one box of health at the -4 and incapacitated levels.

At the bottom of the right hand column is Essence rated from one to six. the first dot is already filled in. Personal, Peripheral and Commited are listed under Essence. In the very bottom right corner is a small box for recording experience points.

It's a fairly decent character sheet. It cetainly contains the numerical information about a character in the game it was designed for, and there isn't much more you can ask for.
