Servants of the Blood Moon is one of the latest of the 16-page pamphlet-style adventures in AEG's Adventure Booster series for 3rd Edition D&D. The series is 11 inches high, but only 4.25 inches wide with a map printed in the center. This one is for PC levels 7-10.

The first thing I wish to get at is the Substance Rating of "Meaty". Someone may feel that a 16 page adventure can't be meaty. Well there are plenty of 64 and 128-page RPG books that are sparse and use tons of filler. This does neither, and so it's "Meaty".

The adventure is epic in scope. And to cover this grand adventure requires the DM to provide all the 'filler' for her campaign. What this adventure does is provide you with all the important details and aspects of the adventure, enough to use to turn it into a full story.

The adventure itself provides *excellent* PC motivation, roleplaying opportunities, and some cruel combat. As promised in each of this series, there is a new monster and a new magic item. Both stick out as high points of the adventure.

In all this series I never see playtesting credits. While I have not yet played it myself, it appears to me at first glance that the main opposisition seems slightly underpowered to match a party of characters of level 7-10 if you take a look to see what the average 7-10th level PC should be armed with from the DMG tables. YMMV.

The d20 system and epic adventure is well portrayed in this offering, making it yet another winner. If the DM wants to play up the "epicness" there will be some work on her part, and the adventure could easily sustain more than a night's play. Please note however that if it IS to be used for just a single night's play, the adventure could be used as is and still suit it's purpose very well.
