I always enjoyed playing RPGs in original settings. I'm just tired of the same old fantasy setting with the evil undead invading the king's castle? Well, if you are going to try something diferent, try something in the aztec world. If you are going to try something in the aztec world, then do yourself a favor and GET THIS BOOK!

This book includes EVERYTHING in aztec culture, from the start of their civilization to it's peak and the defeat to the spanish. The author is completely unbiased, not calling the aztec primitive or violent in the entire book. All the facts from the unique Aztec culture are crammed into 128 pages of this wonderful book. Although some people may find annoying that 2/3rds of the book is about the aztec facts instead of it's uses in a gurps adventure, but I'm not annoyed by this the least. In fact, this makes the book enjoyable to any intelligent person, GM, RPG player or someone who is intersted in aztec culture.

But don't get me wrong! For every "roleplayable" feature in the book, it contains all the info for it, like weeping when necessary, or Fright checks when climbing a volcano. It also includes a couple (but not a lot) of new skills/advantages and disadvantages (Including the hunchback disadvantage, later found in Compedium I!)

The art in this book is very nice (but not great, which keeps it from having 5 on style) and it is very well written (like all gurps books) and it contains dozens of GREAT campaign ideas (although I prefer coming up with ideas myself) for those who don't know what to do.

To put it simply, if you want to do an Aztec adventure (not just in GURPS... the info here is VERY useful for any other RPG system) then you MUST pick up this book. If you can find it, that is... good luck!
