Fluxx is a card game with only 2 simple rules, Draw one card, play one card. How do you win at fluxx? Well, you won't know until you play it. It changes from game to game (and usually turn to turn!) I recently picked up this game at a local con, and I have to say I am genuinely impressed. The cards change the aforementioned rules in the form of adding goals, actions and changes to the rules, (after a few hands you may say have to have one or two special "Keeper" cards in play, and you may have to say draw 4 cards play two and have a maximum hand of 3!!) this is an extremely chaotic game that takes a grand total of 2 minuets to explain the rules (even to a non-gamer type who wouldn't be able to understand any of ICE's other titles if thier life depends on it!!!) It's fast, furious, and non collectable, one deck is a great way to pass the time while waiting for all of your RPG players to show up or just to enjoy, the card art is extremely functional with no real effort for artistic flair, but considering the game, it's hardly a game that would benefit from say larry Elmore, or Clyde Cauldwell type art, the game is rather generic in look, but as stated before it's all in the play!

Style: 3 (Average)
Substance: 5 (Excellent!)
