Nightbane takes the best of Clive Barker, HP Lovecraft and Die Hard and makes a horror/splatterpunk game of exceptional quality.

Players have many options to choose for player characters.....Magic wielding humans, psychic humans, mystic humans (magic and psi), rogue vampires (if the GM permits) and of course...the Nightbane. Creatures that are virutally immortal, have a human form and their morphus (Nightbane) form. The PCs Nightbane form (which can be created randomly from tables or put together with GM discretion) can be a truly nightmarish or beautiful creature with awesome powers to boot! Nightbane can even be magic wielding nightmares if you want!

GMs don't despair.....the bad guys are well....quite a threat. The Darklord and his minions have secretly invaded our beloved planet, undercover of 24hour darkness. The Darklord gains control over the U.S. government and begins to wage a covert war against any who stand in his way: ie the Nightbane.

The PCs have various human and Nightbane factions to work with/against and not all of these factions get along very well either!!

RULES Any player who has played the Palladium system will be immediately familiar with these rules. The writing is clear (character creation may be a little confusing at first) but some of the rules lack realism. This is definitly an action/conflict oriented game. Don't let a target rich environment dismay any roleplaying possibilities! Plenty of sessions have happened without so much as a punch or gun shot!

The magic and psi system is really easy to learn and use. Quite versatile magic too! The system only has about three source books, so 'catching up' won't be a problem. The other sourcebooks provide more background, spells, characters and world information.

Palladium always gives you your money's worth for size and information. You can't go wrong with this purchase, great art, great gaming possibilities, and lots of variety. Just buy it, play it, and love it!

Style: 5 (Excellent!)
Substance: 4 (Meaty)
