Abduction This is a non collectible card game from Eden studios (the makers of the Conspiracy X role playing game). It costs £7.95 for a single deck. A single deck allows 1 to 4 players, but adding another deck allows up to eight players. A six sided dice is required to play.

The cards are green and white and can be difficult to read.

Each player starts off in a location called the holding cell, and the object of the game is to be the first player to reach the exit intact. The holding cell is the only location on the table at the start of each game. Further locations are discovered by players and layed on the table to produce a map.

Each player takes turns in replenishing their hands, and then taking up to three actions. These can be either be: movement from location to location; laying a new location; trying to discover new item cards; powering up any special abilities of the player's current location or playing an event card.

Event cards can be played during any players turn. These consist of various different ways to make other players 'Black Out' (Return to the holding cell minus any equipment and cards), or make other players lose cards or even their entire turn.

Several of these cards are quite hilarious, including my two personal favourites; The 'Let's get it over with' card, and the 'Anal Probe'. If you can't raise a few schoolboy jibes when the latter card appears, this game is not for you.

Evaluation

The first time we played this game, we couldn't really see the point. It's quite similar to Fluxx, in that it's quite arbitrary as to who wins. Once you forget about winning and just concentrate on stiffing your mates... It makes a hell of a lot more sense!
