7th Sea is a game set in the 16-1750's with a few differences. It covers piracy and on land swashbuckeling so that you can do the likes of Dumas (Three Musketeers) and Sabatini (Capt. Blood). It is set in the fictional world of Thea, where the nobility of some nations have the ability to use magic and medicine is a bit more advanced than earth at the same time. It is a game set up from the beginning to encourage swashbuckeling and makeing sure it works.
Mechanichally the system has 5 atributes Brawn, Finesse Wits,Resolve, Panache and Skills which are groups of Knacks (the individual skills) Generally you roll a number of D 10s equall to your attribute and Knack and keep a number equal to your attribute and compare this to a target number. Drama dice which are awarded for dramatic play may be added. The most important thing about the game is that it is fun. It is refreshing to see a game based on a period that has not been well handeled until now. I urge everyone to try it.
Style: 5 (Excellent!)
