Editor's note: Yes, this looks like flamebait, but I liked the points raised on romance mechanics, etc, and thought it worth debate.

While you're reading this review, I'd like you to keep something in mind. I'm only 12 years old. So if there is anthing that offends just shake your head and frown at America's youth.

I, Ursus P, of sound mind and body and in the name of Gary Gygax, Steve Jackson, and Erick Wujcick declare that Changeling, and the White Wolf system as a whole, sucks.

First of all I'd like to ask the White Wolf staff to stop bombing acid while they are creating the setting to their RPGs. It is a horrible mixture of both Gothic and fluffy at the same time. It is also a grim mockery of folk lore every were. Love should never appear as a constant staple in a game on top of having rules for it. I mean having a small love interest as an NPC is okay but having it as a way to gain power is way to far over the edge. Not only that but having a race that one of it's powers is a form of seduction (aside from having rules for regular seduction) is in the worst taste ever.

Now I go to the basic rules. It is way to easy to succeed at anything. 80% of the time you get extremely good roles and the othe 20% of the time you fail horribly. I beleive the only good thing about this game is the way you take damage. Other than that the combat system stinks to the extreme. Weapon damage should never be detemined by simple plusses. That's too one dimensional.

Now let's talk magic system. Why would a mystical force such as Glamour ask you to do things so stupid to cast spells? Make asound like a cow? Scrath an itch and do it thrice? Listen to a seashell? Break a pencil in three and throw the pieces away? Put on white gloves? Eat three glazed doughnuts at the same time? These are things you'd expect from Murphy's World. the other thing that annoys me is that you have to go out and buy cards for the game.

In closing i'd like to say three things. First of all, if White Wolf made considerable improvements in it's second editions I apologize. Second of all if you haven't started buying White Wolf games don't start. Finally, if you are a dedicated White Wolf please don't send me angry e-mails.

Style: 1 (Unintelligible)
Substance: 1 (I Wasted My Money)
