They tried. They really tried, and damn if they didn't bend over backwards to make GURPS work for anime gaming. If Mekton Zeta and the boys at DP9 didn't exist, they would've succeeded. (Never mind BESM!) But those others do exist, and those others are far and away better at anime-style gaming than GURPS will ever be.
So why do I mark this book so high? Because it's one hell of a good adjuct for those other games. Forget everything about GURPS, and take a look at this as a style sourcebook that covers many (if not all) of the popular elements and genres within anime. In that light, this book finds a new means by which to sell itself. It is with this in mind that I recommend this book. Use a different system for your gaming, but keep this handy for all of your world-building, campaign-building, and adventure-design needs. It's a handy little book for those purposes, and (as usual) the gang at SJ did their homework. You can do a lot worse than this, so snag a copy when the cash permits.
Style: 4 (Classy and well done)
