Another good historic source book, that tries to buckle swashes, but fails (largely due to system limitations). While dry, and suffers from some awful art, it has some good ideas and information for GM's that almost any can use in any swashbuckling game. The Overview, History, Culture, People of the Period and Setting chapters make the book worthwhile.
The People of the Period offers a army of personalities with enough information on them to make it a good source for NPC's for games like Lace and Steel and Seventh Sea. Or if the GM prefers for a straight up historical game of any system he chooses. Reccomended only for GM's, historical roleplayers and hardcore swshbuckling fans.
