I'll confess. Templars are my favorite groups of heroes from Hell on Earth, so you might want to take this as a bit biased. I've always thought it interesting to role-play a hero whom doesn't have to be a hero to everybody. Only those that're worth it. Just think, if Spider-Man was this way, he'd have let J. Jonah Jameson get crushed a long time ago...

Still, this book's about the Templars. In case you don't know a thing about Hell on Earth (And if not, why are you reading this? This review's for that line! Go read it, ya idjit!), Templars are modern-day (modern being 2094) "knights of the waste." They go across the Wasted West righting wrongs, if -they- think the person being wronged is worth saving. Your little enclave kills muties on sight and won't let anybody in? Well, have fun playing with that army of automatons coming over the hill 'cause the Templars won't help. It's all about a person's worth, and the Templars are the one who decide.

This little tome here gives you the whole scoop on 'em. You get a great history lesson from one of their most notable members that's extremely well-written and enjoyable. There's also plenty more blessings, small but potent gifts a Templar uses to enhance himself. They can also be blessed by the Martyrs, dead heroes of the Hell on Earth past that give out various benefits. Very cool. No stats for notable Templars, since the folks at Pinnacle don't want ya to kill 'em off, and I really can't say I blame 'em. You'd do it if you could, admit it.

There's an adventure, too. The posse gets a chance to take out a major baddie in the Wasted West, the only downside is it almost doesn't matter since the bad guy's already served his purpose in the overall scheme of things. Still, it's a fairly good adventure.

The art? The art's good. I'd probably notice it more if it wasn't. The archetype pieces are very well-done.

This book did everything it was supposed to for a sourcebook on a certain group of people, all things considered. It made me want to PLAY ONE! Well, I did anyhow but this only fanned the flames. If you've got a Templar in your group, Marshall, git off yer duff and snag yourself a copy.

Style: 4 (Classy and well done)
Substance: 4 (Meaty)
